Dear FRIENDS,

According new report in One Earth Journal, the dry beds of Great Salt Lake and other terminal lakes are the source of more greenhouse gases than previously thought. The report, authored by Melissa Cobo, Tobias Goldhammer, and Soren Brothers found that these emissions were substantial, adding approximately 4.1 million tons of CO2-equivalent to the atmosphere in 2020 alone. This ongoing research is incredibly important to understand the wider impacts of low Lake levels, and we applaud the hard work.
