Joel Ferry was born and raised in Corinne, Utah where his family operates a farm and ranch. After graduating from USU with a degree in Finance and Economics he worked as a banker for five years. In 2008 he returned to the farm and has been enjoying life as a farmer and rancher for the past four years. Joel currently manages the five duck clubs on his property. He has focused on improving habitat conditions for migrating waterfowl and shorebirds and increasing water efficiency on the farm and ranch.
 
Joel is currently serving as a board member with the Utah Waterfowl Association, a member of the Northern Region Advisory Council for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and as a board member for Davis County Farm Bureau. He is currently working with several organizations and groups to increase awareness for water and habitat conservation, eradication of invasive species, and preservation of wetlands in the Bear River Watershed.
