Poster Session / Call For Posters

 

FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake is hosting the 2012 Great Salt Lake Issues Forum on May 10-11th at the University of Utah. The title of the Forum: Changing Conditions and the Future of Saline Lakes. The goal of the poster session is to feature biological, hydrological, geological, ecological, archaeological, historical, economic and/or planning issues pertinent to Great Salt Lake and its management.

Poster Presentations

Poster dimensions should not exceed 3’ 9” x 3’ 9”. Size requirements must be strictly adhered to so they fit within the space assigned to them. If your poster exceeds these specifications, it may be subject to removal. Pins and display boards will be provided.

The posters can be displayed from Thursday, May 10th starting at 7:30 am and must be removed by Friday, May 11th by 4:30 pm, though they can be set up on Wednesday, May 9th. Presenters will be asked to stand by their posters Thursday evening from 5 – 5:45 pm to answer questions and discuss the work with other attendees. There will be an Outstanding Student Poster Award of $250 thanks to the Great Salt Lake Institute at Westminster College. If you are interested in judging student posters please contact Eric McCulley emcculley11@gmail.com or 801-520-2505. The award will be presented on Friday May 11th, directly after lunch and before the afternoon session begins.

Important Dates:

  • March 12 – Registration for the GSL Issues Forum opens
  • April 13  – Still inviting abstract submissions
  • April 22 – Presenters notified of abstract selection
  • May 10 – Although you can register at the door, advance registration is highly recommended, as the Forum may sell out in advance.

Abstracts should be 200 words in length describing the poster to be presented.  Indicate the list of authors in the order they are to appear in the abstract book. Send abstracts to Eric McCulley emcculley11@gmail.com. Posters will be located in the East Conference Room of the Officers’ Club throughout the Forum.  Abstracts will be online through the Forum website and printed in book form for Forum attendees. Presenters will be at their posters during the Poster Session Thursday, May 10th from 5 – 5:45 pm.
