Katie is an environmental educator helping communities throughout Great Salt Lake’s watershed learn to appreciate it and contribute to its long-term restoration. She brings thousands of students to Great Salt Lake each year, where they gain an understanding of the Lake’s unique ecosystem and their connection to it. With a B.A. in Political Science from Chapman University, Katie also enjoys tracking policy relevant to the Lake, communicating the organization’s perspective, and encouraging public engagement. In 2021, she received the the Vern A. Fridley Environmental Educator of the Year Award.
Katie grew up in Northern California's Sierra foothills and moved to Utah in 2017. When she's not at the Lake, she enjoys exploring the city, desert, and mountains.
