I joined the board of FRIENDS in 2022.  I am a research scientist by training with a decade of experience in research program development, project management, communications, and team building. I am also a wildlife photographer exploring the confluence of art, science, and storytelling to promote conservation of wildlife and wild places.  I’ve spent the past few years photographing the vibrant birds of Great Salt Lake immersed in their otherworldly landscapes.  I anchor my work in themes of life and color - counterpoint to a common view of Great Salt Lake as a desolate wasteland.  My “Ten Million Birds” project aims to connect people to our great inland sea, to build empathy for the lives at risk as the lake dries up, and to imprint a vision of Great Salt Lake as one of our great natural wonders, worthy of protection.
